Assembly

Every Friday afternoon, we come together as a school community to celebrate and recognise the achievements of our students.

Before we reveal who are our Star of the Week and Speaker of the Week are for each class, we watch a video showing the best pictures of the week for the class. This is a fantastic way to showcase the amazing experiences and opportunities that our students take part in. Also, it allows all students to see what other classes have been doing during the week.

The Star of the Week is revealed along with the reason why their teacher has given it to them. One certificate is given to the student and another one is put upon our Star of the Week board in the main hall for all students, staff and visitors to see.

The Speaker of the Week is shown on the big screen with the student’s name and reason displayed. Again, one certificate is given to the student and one placed on the wall in the Main Hall for all to see.

During the week, all our students collect Dojo points throughout the day for a variety of reasons. We have four houses in our school and these are: CreatorsExplorersInventors and Investigators.

We collect the number of Dojo points for all our students at the end of the week and reveal these in the assembly. It is great to see students getting excited to see which House is leading the way with the most Dojo points.

The final part of the assembly is where staff select one piece of work to be placed on our Proud Wall in the Main Entrance for their class. Each student with a piece of work on the Proud Wall is given 10 Dojo points for the next week.
